Point Lobos is a state park on the ocean near Carmel, California. I began this painting on location on a beautiful, sunny, but extremely windy day. After my easel blew over for the second time, I ended up sitting with the canvas in my lap, painting and watching the birds and sea lions in this cove. When the gusty wind became too much to handle, I packed up and headed home, where I finished this painting in the studio.
